I am so excited to have been asked to be on the new Flourishes design team!! I hope I didn’t scare Sharon too much with my quick and enthusiastic response! And I was even more excited when I saw their latest and absolutely scrumptious set which is being released today called, “Spring Ephemerals”.

Couldn’t help but bring out the brayer for this silhouetted “Bleeding Heart” floral image. I first stamped the image on Very Vanilla card stock using Jet Black Stazon. Using Versamark I then stamped it again slightly off from the first stamped image and applied clear embossing powder. Next I brayered with So Saffron, More Mustard and Rose Red on top and River Rock and Always Artichoke on the bottom. Using my oval Nestabilities and Cuttlebug I cut out the image. I sponged around the oval with Rose Red. I used my scalloped oval “Nesties” to cut out a second larger oval in black. Using the floral “Forget Me Not” image also from the “Spring Ephemerals” set, I stamped a background on the Basic Gray designer paper from the “Scarlet’s Letter” series. I also sponged around the edges on both the red and green designer papers with Rose Red. The sentiment is from Flourishes “Siberian Iris” set.

I am so loving this set and have another card planned for later this week. And speaking of later this week.. like tomorrow.. check out Leslie Miller’s blog Running With Scissors for some really cool (really really cool) blog candy!! Fun stuff!
