We’ve all been there.  You know… not planning on sitting down and creating anything.  Too much other stuff to do.  HA!  And then one card later…

This card is for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #203.  The stamps used are from Flourishes new release “Autumn Flourishes”.

I used Basic Grey’s “Ambrosia” designer paper for everything but the borders and card base.  The edges have been sponged with Ruby Red and Chocolate Chip.  A white and a black gel pen were used to outline some of the leaves on the main image.  Both ribbons are by May Arts.  The rhinestones are by Kaiser.

Okay I really must do some laundry.  My 17 year old came to me last night as he was going to bed and asked if I could transfer the clothes that he just put in the washing machine into the dryer.  I’m a terrible mother.  Piles of laundry still sit from our trip to Boise, Idaho, this past weekend.  His X-Country team was running in the Nike Regionals there.  The girls had taken 1st place in Washington State.  They took 2nd at Regionals so now qualify for Nationals in Portland, Oregon, on Dec 4th.  Exciting stuff… but oh the laundry.  Yes, I must get to that.

Oh one other thing though… I got a call from one of my married sons last night.  They are expecting their first baby in January.  Looks like this little granddaughter may be coming early.  Kimberly is now on bed rest.  Having lots of contractions.  She is a very tiny lady and an early delivery was expected.  But we are hoping she can hang on for another 2 or 3 weeks.  They just (as in the final paper work gets done TODAY) bought a home.  Looks like Jeff will be doing all the moving on his own next week.  Wonder if he needs a mom to show up and help move the kitchen.  Maybe I can do their laundry!!  I’m so good at that!  LOL!!!

  1. This is a gorgeous card! Those colors are beautiful.

Hope your DIL can hang in there a couple more weeks.

  2. Hope all goes well for Kimberly and Jeff! Wow, if she can hang on, how lucky can you get to not have to pack and unpack when moving! I gave birth to our Mat 3 days after we moved in our first house. I also had a kidney/bladder infection durring labor that gave me a fever of 103. Haha good times, what we put up with!

  3. Your card is beautiful … love the rich colors! Wishing your DIL well … hang in there!!

  4. Haha! Love the laundry story Susan….I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started laundry and then honestly a day or more later realized it never got to the DRYER! Redo that load…!

    Love your non-planned creation 🙂

And hoping that little one stays in there a mite longer! My brother and sis-in-law are expecting their first in March. Our kids first cousins on this side!

    Have a great evening!

  5. Laundry ugh it never goes away lol
Beautiful card as always, I love everything you touch 🙂
I hope your new grand baby can stay in the oven a few more weeks, WOW and a new home, looks like your son will be very busy, he made need mom to do some laundry lol

  6. Susan, this is gorgeous. You are so good coordinating everything. The DP looks like it was meant to go with the stamps and inks you used.

Many blessings are wished to you, your family and new grandbaby. I’m sure all will go well. Don’t worry Gran!

  7. Wowzers, your card is stunning! I love the dp and how you sponged on the colour. Congrats on the pending birth of your grandchild. How exciting!

  8. Gorgeous card! I love the rich colors with those elegant autumn images!

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only laundry slacker!! 😉

Hope your DIL hangs in there a little longer — sending prayers for a good, safe delivery!

  9. A fabulous card Susan, couldn’t help but chuckle over the laundry issue. My 15-year-old started doing his laundry at age 12. Does that make me a bad mother? I’m going with heck no, his wife will appreciate me and be a fantastic daughter-in-law . . . LOL! I sometimes forget about the load in the washer and have to re-wash it, hey, laundry happens, right!

Congrats with the new baby girl, I’ll keep Mom and baby in my prayers for a little more time and a safe delivery.

  10. Don’t worry about the laundry, I’ve got you beat in that department LOL! I had so much clean laundry piled up on the floor – notice piled here, not folded – that it took me over an hour to fold it and put it away last week. Think it sat on the floor for about 5 days. Crazy thing is I did more laundry that week and just added it to the pile — crazy busy week! Congrats on being a grandma to be 🙂

  11. Very pretty Susan. Mom’s are always doing laundry aren’t we. hee hee Praying that the baby stays as long as possible to keep growing. Bedrest isn’t fun but very important for both mom and baby. Hope she adheres to doctors orders.

  12. Gorgeous card!!! Love those rich warm colors!

Best wishes for a safe delivery of the newest little one! Hopefully with the bed rest she’ll hang out just a little longer!

  13. Your card is gorgeous, very lovely and a perfect touch of autumn.
I had to pull my clean underwear out of the dryer this a.m. and they had been washed and dryed for 2 days. Wow guess I need help. Pat

  14. What a most beautiful card for this sketch, Susan!! I love the pretty papers and gorgeous images!!

  15. Congratulations on good news! Hope that baby will be all right! Wow!
Hope your laundry won’t be so routine and boring!
And I just love your gorgeous card!

  16. How pretty! That flower looks so real! Your laundry comment at the end cracked me up. How exciting about the baby!! I sure hope she hangs in there a little longer. Sending happy wishes your way!

  17. Love your card! You did a great take with this sketch!
Wishing all of you the best with the new little one! Altho, with my second, they had to stop labor a few times and I was on bedrest for the last 5 weeks, but then they ended up “starting” me becuase of bp problems! sigh!
Good luck with the laundry! LOL!

  18. What a beautiful card, Susan!!! Love the flower in the center and the corners are awesome!!! Congrats on the new baby girl but sound like she needs to cook just a little longer….sending prayers her way, for sure!!! Oh, BTW, when you finish with their laundry, you can come to Texas and help me with mine…you may have a new career ahead of you!!!

  19. Great use of your dp! Love the acorn images in the corners and your focal image is so pretty!

SO much going on with your family…I, too, hope your soon-to-be granddaughter can hang in there just a bit longer (no pun intended). How exciting, though, another granddaughter for you to love on! And even if you don’t end up moving their kitchen for them, I’m sure once the baby comes, they’ll be begging you to come and do some laundry for them. 😉 Too bad us moms are so good at that. lol Congrats to your son’s x-country team (I remember those days) — you must be proud.
