Well anyone who has ever played Chicken Foot knows that these are NOT the dominoes you want to get stuck with!!  (Low score wins).

This is a fun new set from Stampin’ Up! called “Game Night”.  I thought the domino image needed a 3-D look.  So when cutting it out, I left part of the card stock on the top and right side, cut a couple of angles on it and drew in a very small line to try and achieve a feeling of depth.

Every year my sisters and DBIL get together (they all live in the same city) and play Chicken Foot to bring in the New Year.  I wasn’t there this time, but I thought about them.  Hope they had fun and didn’t get anything that looked like the above!

Thanks for stopping by.  I so appreciate it!  And I would love to hear about your family’s New Year’s Eve traditions, too.

  1. What wonderful dimension you’ve added to those dominoes!! Cute card, Susan!!

  2. Hi Susan, love your card! And…..Chicken Foot sounds like fun – I’ve never played. I also love your calendars for your sisters and your “buzzy” little bee. Two great projects! I’m anxious to get back to posting. How is that new granddaughter? I need to post the card I made my granddaughter last month for her 5th birthday. Grandbabies are wonderful!

  3. How fun! The best part of traditions is they reap treasured memories! Happy New year to you and your family, Susan!

  4. Cute card! I love how you made the dominos seem 3D.

  5. Oh I LOVE this!! I had mentioned to the Friends of Florishes girls that this is our favorite game at the moment some had never heard of it!! This card is AWESOME. I may case it for our upcoming game night!! Thanks for the inspiration. So sorry you missed playing this year.

  6. Oh my gosh, Susan, my Mom plays this game with her siblings all the time (she’s the oldest of seven), and I’m sure my son Daniel knows it, he absolutely loves playing dominoes. I’ve only played a few times and when I’ve won, I can assure you it was “dumb luck” . . . . LOL! A fabulous card, I’ve got to get this set for my mom!

  7. Susan, this is such a cute card, and the dimension makes it even cuter! We play Mexican Train with dominoes, in fact, it is my family’s newest game craze. I am waiting for my girlfriend to teach us Chicken Foot, though!

  9. I’ve never played Chicken Foot, but I rang in the new year with my parents/husband/kids playing Train — probably pretty similar — I ended up with dominoes like what you showed!! Even worse…double blank!! Love the card. I didn’t pre-buy the set but I might have too! TFS! Jeannie

  10. This is a darling card, Susan…love how you added the edges for dimension!! I haven’t palyed Chicken Foot….we go camping every New Years and play our favorite marble game …it’s kinda like Wahoo and lots of fun.

  11. I just love this card, Susan! Wow! What a fabulous job you did on those dominoes! I’ve never played dominoes at all, except for the things my brother and I “constructed” with them when we were little. We play cards, dice and other games with friends, though, so I always love to see things like this. The paper is great! This is just a really cool card!
