Have you ever been to Viva Las Vegastamps?  What a fun store.  On my last trip to Vegas to see my granddaughters, one of my sons took me downtown to shop for a few of their unique sometimes quirky sometimes beautiful always fabulous stamps!  I came away with some WONDERFUL images.  Here is one of them.

This large palm tree image makes creating so quick and easy.  For these scenes I first inked the trees with Memento’s Tuxedo Black Ink and VersaMark together.  More embossing powder sticks to the image when VersaMark is added before stamping.  I have two VersaMark pads, a clean one and an inky one.  After putting the black ink on the stamp, I pressed it onto the inky VersaMark pad and then stamped the image out onto card stock.  I then embossed with a black embossing powder, masked the moon or sky area with a punched circle and brayered away.  A few highlights were added to the trees and “water” with a white gel pen on the night scene.

If you have never brayered before and would like to give this technique a try, visit Michelle Zindorf’s blog, “Freedom in Creating”.  She is most definitely the QUEEN of brayering and has many tutorials and endless inspiration there.

Happy Crafting!
