Each week Libby’s Little Addiction has a challenge called “Courtney’s Closet” where we are shown an outfit of her daughter’s and are to make an inspired card or project from it.  When I saw the darling little dress today I knew the exact set to use..  It is a new SU! set called “Greenhouse Garden”.  In fact my card today is a Stampin’ Up! Only (SUO) card meaning all products used are made by SU!.  I’ve been having SO MUCH FUN with my new toys!!  The bird is from the hostess set “Wings of Friendship”, and the sentiment is from the Spanish version of “Teeny Tiny Wishes” called “Deseos pequenitos”.

Here is a closeup of the bird.  The rubber image was first colored with SU! markers and then stamped.  This was so quick and easy.  I used my Basic Black marker to color in the eye after the image was stamped.

Faux stitching is a favorite technique of mine.  There are two different ways to achieve a stitched look.  One is to first pierce the card and then draw lines between the holes as is done across the top on the front of the card.  The lines were drawn with my Basic Black marker.

Since the card base is black, a white piece of card stock was added to the inside of the card for a written message.  The faux stitching here is done with the marker only.

I love Fridays!  Hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend.  Happy Crafting!smileyscrapperani.gif

  17. Hi, Susan! What you’ve done with the Greenhouse Garden certainly makes me want to take another look at it! I was eyeing it, probably more than any of the other sets, but just not sure… Your stamping is so pretty, it looks like luscious designer paper! And the way you’ve put your card together with the black and pink for pop…well, it’s an eyeful of pretty that makes me want to rush into my stamp room and create something right now. Of course, it’s late and I’m beat, so I’ll do the sensible thing and go to bed…sigh…

  18. All this gorgeousness in one card!! How do you do it?!! This stamp set caught my eye as soon as I began flipping through the new catty, and I LOVE the b/g you created with it! 29. What a beautiful card! The dress may have inspired you in the creation process but you have done an awesome job putting everything together on paper. Your card really caught my attention and I had to look at it closely to see all the details. I couldn’t figure out if the flowers were designer paper or if they were stamped. You’ve done an awesome job with the colors and layout of the flowers. Now you have inspired me to put “Greenhouse Garden” on my wish list. Great job, now I’m off to look at the rest of your blog!
