Let’s start off with the Blog Candy winner!  Random.org has selected:

59. Mary B

“I love reading your blog and seeing your creations. Good luck in the future, and thanks for the chance to win your blog candy!”

I am very appreciative of all your comments of support.  One thing though… I never said that I wasn’t going to continue using SU!  lol  I am just dropping my demonstratorship.  I will admit that I’m having a bit of trouble being inspired by any of their images right now, but this too will pass.  So, the words of encouragement and support were very much appreciated!!  Life is good!  Mary I will be emailing you so that you can send me your set choice and your snail addy.  Congrats!!

Last week I played along in Unity’s Bachelor Bro Challenge #3 to use polka dots and plaids on a project.  Well I love Basic Grey’s June Bug collection, so I used that on my challenge card.  While putting it away… a second card happened!  How fun is that!  lol

The designer paper may be called “June Bug”, but it sure looked like it had Christmas possibilities.  Using some of the scrap and already cut pieces, Polka Dots & Plaid II came together.  I was wishing that I had some lace ribbon that suggested snowflakes, so decided to take a floral lace and clip off part of the design.  What was left? Snowflakes! (sorta)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  We are having lots of wind and rain here in Seattle.  Our power and internet has been in and out.  So I’m going to get this posted while I can!  lol

Happy Crafting!

  1. Classic Christmas card Susan. Great job.

  2. Awesome Susan! Love your card. Love how you altered the trim!

Weather here is in the 40’s with rain and is expected to continue through the weekend. This is the first day I work socks in forever! Don’t know about you, but I hate to kiss my sandals goodbye for the season!

  3. Beautiful card Susan. It’s good to know I’m not the only one having a hard time using SU’s images right now. I have to say thank you for all of the inspiration you share with us.

  4. Oh my gosh! This is SO cool! I`m just in awe of the combination of colors and patterns!! It looks so professionally designed, and the plaid is awesome. I love this card!!

  5. Fabulous card. I love what you did to the ribbon. You have such a wonderful eye for details.

  6. very creative with the lace, like the plaid!

  7. What a great idea with the lace! I really love it! And plaid paper gives a very warm and cozy feel to the card!

  8. Oh, I love your cards with this paper, Susan! Funny thing…I love this June Bug paper, too, and I’ve used the plaid for a masculine card and for a Christmas card I’ll be posting tomorrow. Wish I had more of the plaid. It looks awesome with the polka dots. This Christmas card is so darn festive and cute!

  9. You are sooooo creative, Susan! I love that you used the June Bug paper for a Christmas card (love that plaid!), and your idea to create your own snowflake trim from the floral one is brilliant! Me thinks my box must be too small and me can’t thinks outside of it…er, maybe that means me brain’s too small and me box is too big?? lol Love the card, love your creativity, and I’m so disappointed that BROman selected the wrong winners for this challenge (last one too!). 😉

Hope you’re power is on for good now. Wind isn’t my favorite (and we had quite a bit of it today).

  10. This truly is merry and bright! I love what you’ve done with the lace ribbon – pure genius!! The cheerful plaid dsp just makes me happy!! Beautiful card Susan!!

  11. Susan, what a bright and cheery Christmas card and I love the way you modified to lace to your design!!!

  12. Love the bright colors… fits perfect with the quote!

  13. What a festive and fun Christmas card, Susan!! I love the plaid with the polkas…and that snowflake brad is so cute!
