One of my sister’s had a birthday recently.  When she taught school she had some pet mice in her classroom that she would occasionally bring home over the weekend.  So when I saw this darling set, “Mouse Party” from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps, it reminded me of her.. so sweet.. the perfect set to make her a card!

I made the eyelet lace using SU’s Eyelet Border Punch on a strip of paper.  It was then run through a Paper Crimper to simulate the look of gathers.

After crimping, it was pinched in a few random spots to give the appearance of even more gathering.

A little love was given to the inside of the card with ribbon and designer paper, and for the finishing touch the envelope got some attention as well.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Hope your week is filled with.. Happy Crafting!

  1. What a wonderful idea for crimping the punched paper to create a more lacey look. You know, I never did get around to buying a crimper. Just might have to put that on the “list.”

  2. How perfect! Love that lace edge!!! Happy Birthday to your sister!

  3. Yeah, someone else who still uses a crimper LOL! I just LOVE the crimped “lace”. Darling card.

  4. Hi Susan, This is so sweet and so well done. I love how you “gathered” the faux lace — and at first glance I thought it was the real thing. TFS! I am going to have to give your technique a try.
