Here’s another CAS card for Christmas 2014!  My goal is to make at least a couple of Christmas cards each month between now and October. Then during the holiday crunch time I will already have several designs to choose from to mass produce.  It’s the designing and not the producing that seems to take the most time for me.  That’s the theory anyway!

The tree image is a stamp that I have had for years but haven’t used for sometime.  But because chevrons are so trendy right now, the image seems very up-to-date!   This card works for a challenge to use chevrons that is over at Crazy for CAS.  Not only are the trees themselves chevrons, but the strip of designer paper incorporates them as well.

Crazy for CAS: Challenge #35 Chevrons

Working along with my goal to make at least a couple of Christmas cards each month, there is a Fan Club challenge at Splitcoaststampers to do exactly that!  This month’s challenge “New…with the Old” is to “grab and dust off some of your “older” stuff and make it new again.
Well… this “old” image just turned into chevron trees!

Also to motivate with the Christmas card creations is the Weekly Christmas Card Challenges found at Sparkle Creations.  My card works in this week’s challenge there, too.

  1. Great use of trends, Susan. And what a wonderful idea to design some cards as you go through the year!

  2. You’re so right about the chevrons updating this image! I love using old stuff. There’s a reason why I keep it (some of it, anyway). I love this CAS card!

  4. I like it!! Cute and sweet! 🙂

  5. This reminds me of one of my favourite Christmas books,
Marianne from “The Tale of the Three Trees”. But I love the card like that already. And the idea of doing different Christmas cards during the year.

    Thank you

  12. What a great CAS design, Susan…I just love the tree stamp!! It looks fabulous with the chevron papers!! I started using some of my older stamps, too….it’s like rediscovering old friends!!!!
