Sometimes my fingers get really inky, like for instance, while making this background. But it was totally worth it because sponging is such fun, and I love the effect!!
One of the fern stems was stamped on acetate and then pressed onto the cardstock so it would bend the other way.
The solid butterfly was made by using the negative cutout of the top butterfly as a template and then fussy cutting. By using the inside of the cutout rather than tracing around the actually butterfly, the solid/bottom piece is slightly smaller than the top. I think it just looks better not to have any overhang of the bottom butterfly.

Yeah this is completely random, but when I was playing around with the SU Summer Sun (retired?) cardstock, I noticed that the Copic Y35 marker is a perfect match. Just an fyi. (Oh and the Copic is colored on PTI Select White cardstock.)

Gorgeous card Rainy. Thanks for the tip on the butterfly. I agree the smaller size looks a much better fit. Love the play of colors as well as their bright boldness and the fern facing in both directions. Much more natural with the fern facing in many directions and levels.
This is just lovely, and who knew you could reverse an image by stamping on acetate and transferring it?! What a clever little trick to get extra mileage from your stamps! The butterfly looks amazing, and the Copic match is perfect!!

Oh, my! Your background with the ferns is gorgeous! Love your idea for the acetate stamping to turn the fern, as well as your idea for creating the solid butterfly piece. Clever! You’re not kidding the Y35 is a perfect match. I still have Summer Sun cardstock and ink, too.
That is a very Gorgeous background, so many neat techniques on this one, love your idea for the fern going the other way, love the pretty softness it gives and great idea for the butterfly too!!
