Today is the final day to upload cards for the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers, and I have five cards to share!

This first card fits into four of the challenges: DTGD15DiniA, DTGD15vdutchr, DTGD15UnderstandblueA and DTGD15LMcAree.

This was the first time I’ve played at making a watercolor wash background and admit to using a big background stamp to help me with it.  Once the stamp was inked, I spritzed on some water and then stamped.

This card is for the DTGDvasunshine challenge.  It may be my first Christmas card for the year.  Gotta start somewhere!

DTGD

The star is popped up on foam tape for some fun dimension.

This third card is for the DTGD15StampmommaB challenge.  It is what I call a “recycled” card to help my hubby out of an awkward situation!Smiley.TeeHeeAni  (See below.)*

Lots of foam tape on this image panel and the sentiment.

*Over the years with birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day and other miscellaneous occasions my DH has accumulated quite a large number of handmade cards from me.  And he doesn’t know what to do with them afterwards.  He doesn’t want to toss them.  He thinks this would hurt my feelings.  But he really doesn’t have any place to put them either.  So I decided to rescue him from his dilemma.  After he has had them out for a week or two, I take them back and recycle them.  He is TOTALLY okay with this.  In fact, I think he is relieved!  lol  It is especially fun to dress up the earlier cards.  Below is the original of the card above.  The new version is already off to my DBIL.  And he can do whatever he wants with it afterwards with no worries.  Smiley.GrinHugeAni

This gears die seemed like the perfect companion for this Graphic 45 patterned paper.  The large butterfly is popped up on foam tape for some depth and dimension.

Made a trip to my local craft store over the weekend and found lots of NFL goodies.  Had to have some!  Will be sending these fun stamps off to my Tucson Seahawk loving son and family.  Kinda hard for them to find much of this sort of thing there.  lol

Made a card for fun with some of the designer Seahawk paper to go along with it all.  Added a little football brad to finish off the fun.

This card will be playing along in the DTGD15StampmommaA and DTGD15fattire7 challenges.

Hand drew a frame around the image of Seattle and added a “12” flag at the top of the Space Needle.

  1. Oh, Susan, what a FABULOUS Grand Finale! I love each one of these final cards, and what fun to read about your DH’s cards! LOL! I just had to laugh, because we sort of have the same problem! In fact, we rarely give each other cards because of that very reason. But he displays a select group on his bookcase shelves in his “retirement” office. He’s a sweetie, and it sounds like yours is too! I love each card, and what a fun last one with the gifts! Hugs, sweet friend! (And thanks for the chuckle!)

  2. Hi Susan,

Love all your cards and especially your Seahawks card. I’m visiting in WA right now and would love to get some of those images. Can you tell me the store where you purchased the Seahawk related items?

  3. Wow have you been busy… love your background with the strawberries, it looks like the after effects of cleaning and cutting strawberries, so sweet! Love your Christmas card, I would never have thought to use the same paper for the star but that is such a cool look! Great idea recycling your hubbies cards and I love what you came up with when you redid it too! That paper is great with your gear die, pretty butterfly with it…. and I bet your son was thrilled to get his goodies for his team!!

  4. So many beautiful cards. Det 1 one reminded me of the design from Ed Hardy 🙂 I am in a little low this days when it comes to cretivity. So it is good to se others that have a loot of it 🙂

  5. WOW!! You have really been so busy creating!! I love ALL of them really!! Not going to choose…although, I think maybe perhaps you needed a Chicago Bears card in there! LOL!! 🙂

I love the watercolor background on your top card, the sparkle on your second one, the third card with the crackle background is such a fun look and your butterfly design is really amazing with the floral paper!! Great job on all of them! HUGS

  6. I loved the difference between the before and after card, and I’m so glad you shared such a delightful story about hubby cards. Another great job at creativity. Thanks for sharing them with me.

  7. What a wonderful collection of cards! I’m loving the recycled card idea, and especially love the ribbon treatment with that little clip! Everything looks wonderful Susan – you’ve been a busy stamper 🙂
