I have had this image for some time and was so happy to color it and create this happy fall card.

I love this time of year.. now, but it hasn’t always been this way.  When I had my four rambunctious little boys that loved playing outside, fall was a sad time for me.  It meant all that energy was going to be confined inside!  We lived in a Chicago suburb and had a large unfinished basement.  So my hubby screwed swings into the joists and we laid down gym mats on the floor.  We would bring in their hotwheels and let them ride circles around the central staircase.  It helped, but was still no substitute for the great outdoors.

But now all four are grown and married and have lots of little rugrat rambunctious-ness of their own to deal with!  And my feelings of the season have changed, too!

Used several of my favorite elements like a button and linen thread and a doily and scalloped circle and of course my Copics. Popped up some of the layers just for fun.

  5. Oh, Susan, I love this card and especially love the fall colors. I grew up in New Jersey and enjoyed the fall most of all because of the gorgeous colors of the leaves. What fun to read about your raising those rambunctious sons! So clever of your hubby to make the basement their place to play during the cold months. Your coloring is fabulous, and I love how you’ve masked the elements to make a beautiful fall basket of love. Sweet with the doily and the scallops finished off with the twine and button. Doesn’t get any sweet than that! Hugs and love, sweet friend! xoxo
