Here’s a card for a special young man who is soon turning 9. Lots of layers (8 total!) give the card a nice sturdy feel.

Since his favorite color is green, the number 9 was die cut with an old numbers die set using some green metallic paper.

I’m playing along in some challenges, of course!

Its nice to make some Christmas cards throughout the year instead of waiting until November (or even December)! Without the pressure to get them done quickly, making them is a much more enjoyable process for me. So with that said here is a Christmas card in February.

The die set consists of two dies. The bottom layer is adhered directly to the black cardstock. The top layer is popped up on foam tape to give a wonderful layered 3-D effect.

So peaceful. I thought this inside sentiment was perfect for this lovely scene.

Stamps: SU “Wonder of Christmas” (Outside Sentiment) and “Gentle Peace” (Inside Sentiment)

Papers: PTI Select White and True Black

Inks: SU Basic Black

Accessories: Deer in Forest Scene Dies; Rhinestones; Silver Cording; Nestabiltiies “Classic Squares” Dies

To begin this card a circle was die cut on masking paper to make a round ‘template.’ The circle ‘template’ was placed on the card base and then the desired colors of inks were sponged onto the card base.

I stamped the three distance birds and sentiment onto the card base.

The main bird image was stamped and colored with copic markers. It was then die cut and placed on the card base using foam tape to pop it up and give some depth to the card.

This card was inspired by Lorraine’s card found HERE.
