Dec 292011

It’s a rainy windy day here in Seattle, and the forecast is for more rain and then more rain and then more rain as far out as the forecasting goes.  So thought it was the perfect time to use some of my big, bright and beautiful flowers to add some color and cheer to the day.

Boy do these ever make a statement!

Love this sentiment.  Even though it is from Inkadinkado’s “Thank You Words” set, I think it would make a great Valentine’s sentiment.  And with my DH’s favorite color being purple… well I may already have his Valentine’s card done.  Although, the flower may be too much for a guy?  Have to think about that one…

And finally, here’s a couple of cards made with these new (to me) fabric flowers from Petaloo!

Staying dry and having so much fun doing it!  Thanks for dropping by today.

Happy Crafting!

Dec 212011

A friend of mine has her birthday in a couple of days.  It must be kind of a bummer (or a relief depending on your perspective!) to have your birthday right in the middle of the Holiday Season.  So today we went to lunch, and I gave her a birthday card.

Added a little scored line for some interest on this CAS design.

Since I had SU’s Button Buddies out, I made a couple more cards with this fun set.

The vases on both of these cards were made by inking up the stamp and then spritzing it with water before stamping.

I have no idea who in the world I could ever give this next card to, but I think the little piggy in this set is SO cute!  lol

After stamping this ‘little’ guy with Chocolate Chip, I colored the image in with a Pretty in Pink marker.  Like the effect.  And the corduroy nose just cracks me up!

We are going to celebrate Christmas at our house tonight.  It just worked out better for our Seattle son.  That’s the beauty of having adult kids.  You can kinda do what ya gotta do to make it work.  Hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!!

Now that the Christmas cards are done, I was going through a stack of unopened mail and found my nephew’s wedding invitation.  Oh no!  I forgot to make and mail him a card.  Etiquette says you can send wedding cards/gifts for up to a year after the wedding?  Well I’m making that deadline by 11 months!   Good grief.

As always, I tried to use the invitation as inspiration for the card.

One of my all time favorite Martha Stewart punches is this “Crown” Border.  Did you know that right now, while they last, Ellen Hutson’s store has almost ALL of the Martha Stewart punches at 50% off!!  If you’ve ever wanted one of these awesome punches, now is the time to check out what’s available there.

Happy Holidays to you!!

Stamps: A Muse “Wishing You”

Papers: PTI Vintage Cream; Graphic 45 “Le Romantique Collection”

Inks: SU Basic Black

Accessories: Martha Stewart Crown Punch; Inchie Arts Inchie+; Rhinestones; Satin Ribbon

Here are the last of my Christmas cards for the year.  In this first group I used the card from this post as a template and just changed up the designer paper.  With so many other holiday things going on, this made it so much easier… I didn’t have to think!  lol

And in no time at all there were eight more cards!

I also CASEd a card that I made a couple of years ago.

And, using the same designer paper series, I made one last limited-layer-somewhat-mailer-friendly design.

The final ten ready to go!

What fun I’ve had making my cards this year.  Happy Crafting!

Those Inkadinkado Inchie stamp sets can be used for more than just Inchies!  Here I’ve paired one of the sweet little holly images with some of SU’s bold striped dsp.

Loved the results so much that I made 9 more!

I’m sorta getting into this mass production thingy.  Happy Crafting!

Dec 052011

Although I didn’t “need” anything, a couple of days ago I found myself standing in the aisles of my local craft store.  I hadn’t planned a visit, but needed to shop at a nearby store.  Well, its pretty much impossible to just walk past it… I am quite literally drawn in!

And what did I find but this GORGEOUS piece of designer paper!!  Love the non-traditional colors!  I came right home and made 8 Christmas cards with it.

The snowflakes and sentiments are placed at different levels on each card to best show off the wonderful sparkle of that particular piece of dp.  The punched border is a Martha Stewart Edger Punch.  Not sure that this one is still available but if you haven’t visited Ellen Hutson’s store recently, she is offering almost ALL of her Martha Stewart Punches at 50% off while they last!!!

I was tempted to put rhinestones at the center of the snowflakes but added Stickles instead.  This helped keep the cards flatter for mailing.

The Christmas card stash continues to grow!

Thanks for dropping by today.  Happy Crafting!

Recently I cleaned and organized all my crafting goodies.  In so doing a gold ink dauber turned up.  So weird.  I have no recollection of ever even buying this sweet thing.  But once I found it and saw how it sparkled, I had to give it a try.

This week’s challenge at Our Creative Corner is to “make a project with a Christmas tree on it”.  So using my new found dauber, I made two!

And here are some close ups.

Look at that shimmer!

The sketch for this second card was inspired by Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #357.

I LOVE this stuff!

What treasures one can discover just by cleaning!

Happy Crafting!
