I have always loved gingham.  So when this week’s challenge over at the Mod Squad was “Going Gingham”, playing along was at the top of the list!  And with the oh so soft yellow patterned paper, this card is also playing along in the challenge at Simon Says Monday to use Yellow.

A little Washi Tape and a row of delicate embossing finish the card.

This card is also playing along in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge “Clean and Simple” and the Seize the Birthday Challenge.

These new Dina Wakley sketched images of women are so fun to color!  Finally got a chance to play with one of them from the “Face in the Crowd” set.

Used Copics to color the neutral art flowers, too, for that perfect match.

Playing along in some challenges.  They are:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge “The Big Stamp”
Both the image and sentiment are big stamps!

Muse Challenge #64

Can you see the flower petals and colors in her collar and dress?

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge “Keep It Clean and Simple”
It’s just the card base and a sentiment strip.

Just a silly card today.

And, of course, the punchline on the inside:

What better embossing folder to use than “Houndstooth”

My DH and I just recently returned home from a month long trip to Mexico.  Of course, I had to take some stamps and papers and Copics on the trip!  Here is a card I made while there. Since there was a limit to the supply of colored cardstock I could fit in my one allotted “play” suitcase, the red border is instead a piece of Select White cardstock which was colored with the Copic for a perfect match to the lanterns.

A white gel pen was used to draw the pattern on the lanterns.

This card is playing along in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge:  “Winged Things”.

Just for fun I thought I would share some pictures of mangroves and critters that I took while on a little side trip into the jungle!  You can click on them to enlarge.

Remember to keep hands (and arms!) inside the boat!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Isn’t it beautiful!?!  It’s more of the Decorative Handmade Paper that a good friend gave me a little over a year ago.

Even the Bitty Blossom and leaves are made with it.

Now don’t tell anyone, but a large area of the bottom layer of this precious paper (the part that is covered with a coordinating designer paper) was actually cut out.  It only looks like it is layered.  So now, instead of being covered up, I have a good sized piece of paper to use another day while still getting the look of layers.  LOVE.

One of the challenges that this card is playing in is Craftyhazelnut’s Patterned Paper April Challenge.  I’m hoping that this little trick on the bottom layer doesn’t break the rules to cover the card base with dp…  I mean there is designer paper all over the front of the card… right?

There are four other challenges, too:

Simon Says Monday Challenge:  Anything Goes

Papertake Weekly Challenge:  Anything Goes

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Happy Birthday!

Seize the Birthday:  “Buttons and Rhinestones (Any type of Bling will work!)” I used a whole bunch of lovely black KaiserCraft Adhesive Pearls.

No Stamps. No Ink.  Just pure delicious paper goodness.  Sometimes this addiction of mine just has to be realized!

The text on the “Forget Me Nots” paper reads, “rain, rain go away come again another day” which suggests maybe a Get Well or Encouragement type of card.  But with that exception, all the other cards could be used for lots of occasions… Birthday, Thank You, Hello, Happy Spring, Easter, Mother’s Day and of course Get Well or Encouragement, too.

Below are individual pictures of each card.  If you want to see a larger image of them, just click on the thumbnails.
