Feb 262013

The last couple of months have been challenging around here!  We are getting our house ready to sell and are in the process of “decluttering”.  Part of that involves moving my crafts to a little teeny tiny cabin for a few months.  Since most of my crafting goodies will not fit in the small space I have there,  a lot of my supplies are boxed up for long term storage.  Some of the stuff is already at the cabin and some still remains here in my craft room.  But I loved this FTL Sketch so much and the other two CAS challenges looked like fun.  So I stole away for a bit and created this card.

The challenges are:

The Clean & Simple Stamping FTL229 sketch challenge.

Less is More Week 108 Challenge to do some paper piercing on your creation.

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC91 to add silver to your CAS project.

I have been so occupied with the house that I hadn’t checked the mailbox in almost two weeks.  I’m so glad I finally did.  Look what treasure was waiting there from my granddaughter, Kate!

It’s really a darling design with the heart slightly angled.  She even stamped on the inside.. a totally “pro” thing to do!

She’s already old enough to sign her name!?!  How is that possible?

Okay.. I’m back to the packing grind.  Those boxes won’t fill themselves!

Happy Crafting!

Pat Adam is such a sweetie!  She has been collecting Valentine’s cards for her “Cards 4 Kids” drive.  Here is what I created for it.

blog150triowithwm.JPG

Isn’t this little elephant adorable!  He is “Dr. Pea-Nut” from Our Craft Lounge.

blog150closeupcard1withwm.JPG

blog150partialinsidecard1withwm.JPGI love this little bucket of peanuts, too.  It is stamped on the inside of the card with a sentiment.

And check this doggie out.  He is also from Our Craft Lounge and is part of the “Pat the Dog” set.  Too cute!

Both clear stamp sets come on a sturdy plastic panel that has the images shown and beautifully colored.  Thank goodness for that!  It was a tremendous help to me as I continue to practice with Copics.

It seems like I am always just under the wire.  I had planned on making several more, but life has taken a chunk out of my stamping time lately.  Since Pat needs all of the cards by the 7th, these need to get in the mail TODAY!!

Details for the Karen Lockhart “Peapod of Hearts” card can be seen here.

Oh and one more thing I want to share today…  In December I visited my DS and DDIL.  Shortly after I got home this beautiful card arrived from them.  I love the way the front flower is offset from the back red flower to give a shadow effect.

We were all hoping that little Katelyn would arrive while I was there.  Well she didn’t, but at least I was able to help with some cleaning that needed to be done before they could move into their new home.  It actually worked out great as I will now be flying there again at the end of the month for another visit.  Plus I got this wonderful card!

Life is good.

The party has gotten so big over at Sharon’s blog that today “Stamp Simply Celebrates” is spilling right over onto mine!!  With Christmas almost here and lots of mailing to do, I think that Gift Cards are one of the best ways to send a little love to family and friends.  Well every gift card needs a holder, and there is a template and a whole gallery for inspiration that uses that template over on Splitcoaststampers (SCS).  That’s because it was SCS’s Sketch Challenge #101.  So your challenge is to make a gift card holder.  Now if you have a different design that you like or want to try, no worries.  Go for it!

I love playing along with Beate’s Inspiration Challenges. This week the inspiration piece is this beautiful bed linen.

blog54bic13-cgbedlinensbeddingtonalpipedimg.jpg

Here is the card I made for it.

5blog54bic13withwm.jpg

The coverlet inspired me to use an embossing plate from Spellbinders that I bought several months ago and still had not used. I colored in the leaves on the main image using a blender pen and reinkers. See those tiny little Raindots on the flower centers? Aren’t they cute! The sentiment is from Flourishes “Many Sentiments” set.

And I also wanted to share this wonderful Mother’s Day card that my DS and DDIL, Kimberly, made and sent to me.

I just love the way she stamped the sentiment in the corner where the designer paper has been torn away. And isn’t the sparkle on the bodice such a sweet and perfect little detail. I love this card!

A card:

Last month I received this darling card from my DDIL. Well it was from my son, too, but Kimberly made it. Isn’t it just the cutest!

1blog25withwm.jpg

She wanted me to be sure and mention that she got her inspiration from this adorable card by BeccaP on Splitcoaststampers. Kimberly has not been stamping long. I think she is just so talented. I plan to show off some more of her cards in the future. 🙂

The stamp set used here is called “Unfrogettable” from Stampin’ Up!.

One of my favorite blogs and stampers in the whole world is Sharon Johnson (notimetostamp). Every Friday Sharon has a “Stamp Simply” challenge on her blog. This week she has challenged us to use paper piercing. Well I have NEVER paper pierced before so decided to take some baby steps and give it a try.

5blog25withwm.jpg

Can you see it! lol The flower made from the scallop punch is something I saw over on Beate Johns’ blog. Beate posted a scrapbook page that her friend Cheryl Simmons had done. I thought it was so cute and clever.
