“An overfilled marker will blob on your paper or drip onto your work.” ~www.copicmarker.com/faq~

Yup.

I recently filled all of my Copics.  Sure wish that I had read that little tidbit before doing so.  I overfilled 3 or 4 of my markers, and it resulted in some serious “blobs”.  The above blob was hidden with a golden silk daisy.

I was lucky on this particular image.  Some of the drips were not so easily resolved.  Moral to the story?  Read the instructions… FIRST!!  It makes for much more Happy Crafting!!

Spring weddings.. new beginnings for brides Kate, Kami and Claire!

Kate: As I often do, part of the wedding invitation was incorporated onto this first wedding card.

The rounded corners from the invitation were also copied on two corners of the card.

I have also entered Kate’s wedding card into this week’s challenge at “Stampin’ Sisters in Christ” to use soft pastels on your card or project.

Kami: On the second invitation, there was no part of it that could be used for the card.  The invitation was completely black and white with a strong graphic, so I drew from that for the wedding card design.

Add Media

Claire: For the third wedding card a large floral area of the invitation was cut out and used.  The frame on the invitation piece was completed by using a matching Copic to draw the lines on the card base.

Claire married a farmer and the reception that my husband and I attended Saturday night was very rustic.  It was adorable with burlap table coverings and hanging lanterns.. like a hoedown.. very fun.  And it was complete with a Holstein cow wedding cake!!  Here is the card I made for her bridal shower.

What a busy happy time for these beautiful young women!

As intense as the Space Mountain rollercoaster ride may be, the Alice in Wonderland Teacup ride at Disneyland strikes more terror into my heart!  I cannot go on those spinfest rides!  So last week while our family spent Spring Break at the “Happiest Place on Earth”, I was very grateful that one of my sons and his wife took my granddaughters on the Teacups.  My role was photographer. *phew*

However, just because I don’t like her ride, I do love this fun image of Alice.

She is colored with Copics and accented with a white gel pen.

What a trooper.  He convinced his nieces that he was having fun! LOL!!

Thanks for dropping by today.  Happy Crafting!

Last month my DH and I were in Mexico for a couple of weeks.  I packed some cardstock, my Copics and a few stamps so that I could stamp and color while enjoying the warm sun and ocean surf.  It was such fun!

Both of today’s cards were created using scenes that I colored there.  The images are from Flourishes “Beach Life” set.

A white gel pen was used to accent the tree trunks.

On this second card the flower center was made by splitting a small punched circle of cardstock in two.  This created a “fuzzy” texture where the layers were torn apart.

A black line was drawn with a Copic Multiliner for the horizon, and the sand was dotted using the white gel pen.

Surf’s Up!!  Happy Crafting!

Played along in this week’s sketch over at Operation Write Home.

To give the sentiment a little dimension, the paper and bar section of the typewriter was stamped a second time.  The sentiment was then stamped on it and cut out.  This small section of the image was then adhered over the complete image of the typewriter.

But there was a problem!  After closer examination of the sketch, I realized that I had NOT followed it correctly.

What to do?  Try again, of course!  LOL

This is such a great sketch.  Really loved it (both versions!)  hehe

If you make any cards for OWH and have their name stamp, don’t forget to stamp it on the back of each card you send.

Happy Crafting!

Last summer I had some fun playing with my embossing folders together with some ink.  I posted the resulting card “Embossed Kisses” here.  Shortly thereafter Beate asked me to do a tutorial for Splitcoaststampers using this technique.  It’s over at SCS today!  You can find the tutorial here.

If you’ve got some embossing folders, I hope you’ll give this quick, easy and fun technique a try!!
The possibilities are endless.. well almost.

Happy Crafting!
