#14 – Conniecrafter, Congrats! You are the winner of the Papertrey Ink “One Liners: Happy Die” set!!
Made a card using one of the dies from the awesome Papertrey Ink “One Liners: Happy Die” set.
Besides cutting the die out of the plaid patterned paper, three cuts were made with white cardstock. All four layers where glued together with the plaid piece on top. It was then placed back into the cutout on the plaid paper. Love the dry embossed look this creates.
When I ordered this die set I accidentally ordered two sets.
But that’s great news for someone. So… how about some blog candy!

Two birthdays today. First and most important is my DH’s birthday. Here is the card I made for him.
The reflection was made using an acetate sheet. The ship was stamped onto the acetate which was then flipped and the ink pressed onto the cardstock. The moon was made by punching a 1-3/4″ circle out of masking paper. That was then adhered to the cardstock and the sky was sponged using various inks. The masking paper was then removed, and the resulting moon was lightly sponged. The water was also sponged.
This card is playing along in the Addicted to CAS Challenge #57 – Code Word “Mask”
The other birthday is my blog! It’s seven years old today! I’ve had a fun time this past week celebrating with some blog candy. There is still one more Stampin Up set, “Lotus Blossom,” that’s up for grabs until tomorrow. You can find it HERE.

Here is a card made with the Stampin’ Up set called “Lotus Blossom”. The set is today’s blog candy, and even though it’s not a tulip I think it can pass as one.
A little sentiment tag was tucked under the ribbon and a butterfly was added to anchor it.

The Blog Candy today is another Stampin’ Up Sale-a-Bration set called, “A Happy Thing.”
For the main image the lemon was stamped, masked and stamped again. For just a little dimension a third lemon was stamped, colored, cut out and then adhered to the main image over the front lemon.
TIP: The coloring of the third lemon included using a black Copic Marker on the cut edge. I think this gives a more finished look and helps the cut image stand out even more.

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s crunch time! To get my Christmas cards made, I’ve been busy playing with a new Hostess set from SU! called “Warmth and Wonder”. Just love this sweet set.
I decided to start with the darling tree image in the set and play along in this week’s challenge over at Less Is More.
Each card has a different patterned paper on it. It was SO FUN going through several pads to find the papers that would work. Apparently I found several that did! LOL
Without any embellishments, the cards are super mailable.
By using a marker and coloring directly onto the stamp, the lights on the trees can be multicolored.
When coloring a stamp with markers, it can be difficult to differentiate what color is where. On this particular image, I found it easiest to use just one color at a time.
After using part of the image and doing all of the trees with one color, I cleaned the stamp and colored the other parts with the second color and stamped the remaining lights.
****** BLOG CANDY ******
Finally today I have a brand new Christmas sentiment stamp to give away in a little blog candy drawing.
It is from Stampabilities and is identical to the one used on several of today’s tree cards.
To enter in the drawing all you need to do is leave a comment below in the comment section of this post. A winner will be chosen using random.org on Sunday, October 27th, at midnight.
Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Crafting!

It’s time for November’s Rainy Day Sketch Challenge! Here is this month’s sketch. It was inspired by this darling card over at Diane Zachman’s blog, “Paper Cookies.”
I made a couple of cards, too, to show the sketch in action. lol
The first card shows the sketch rotated 180 degrees.
Love CAS designs, and I love the simplicity of this heart and sentiment with it’s sweet little button.
The second card shows the sketch with an orientation like the drawing.
I also love the vintage look with lace and pearls and a crocheted doily flower. A little flourish peeks out from behind the designer papers.
To make the pennant shaped panel, I cut three coordinating pieces of designer paper and lined them up side by side with the pattern side face down. The center of the middle strip was marked. Taking a square piece of cardstock, I placed it at the bottom of the strips with one of the corner points placed on the center mark high enough that the outside bottom corners of the strips were also covered by the square.
I marked the “V” and cut.
The blog candy this month is a brand new 6×6 pad of Basic Grey’s “Lucille” designer paper. It is one of the most beautiful selection of papers I have ever seen! All of the designer paper used on both of my cards are from this collection. It will be sent to a randomly drawn winner from those who play along in the challenge.
To play just leave a link to your creation in the comments section. A winner will be drawn on December 1st giving you a little over 2 weeks to participate in the challenge. Oh and please make sure that the link you leave goes to the specific card you are entering and not to your blog or gallery in general. Hope you can find some time to play!
Happy Crafting!
