My twin granddaughters turn 9 years old in just a few days.  Here are their cards this year.

The “pockets” were adhered to the card front with dimensional tape on the bottom and sides leaving the top elevated and open.  It made them just right to insert some birthday spending money or gift card!

The cards were inspired by the “CASE Study #154 Challenge”.  Besides the colors, the yellow polka-dot pocket on the card with the stamped sentiment imitates the sentiment strip on the inspiration piece.  The cards also qualify for the “Seize the Birthday ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge”.

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy Happy Crafting!

With an uncle and a father-in-law’s birthday coming up this week, here are a couple more cards made “for the guys.”

A white gel pen was used to accent the grasses.

I have had this next image for years.  It was about time it found some ink!

Here the gel pen helps add the look of some whitewater rapids.

Guy cards can be fun, too!

Today I am sharing the cards I made for Father’s Day this year for the guys in my life.  These tend to be the hardest cards for me to make.  So although the day is long behind us, if you also find “guy cards” difficult to design, maybe you can get an idea or two from these to help you in the future.

These were for my two sons, both of which are great grillers!

Can you get away with rhinestones on a guy card?

This card was for my father-in-law:

Had fun with my Copics on this one!

And finally, this one was for my hubby:

We are currently living in a very small cabin on a very beautiful lake.

This just seemed so… us!  lol

Lots of weddings this summer so lots of wedding cards!  They are so fun to make.  I love to use the invitation as inspiration for the card, and this new set from SU worked perfectly for three of them.

Here are the corresponding invitations.

A little closer look at the cards:

A few black rhinestones were placed on the flourish.  LOVE!

This time some clear rhinestones were added to the focal image for a little touch of bling!

I love this tree image from Papertrey Ink’s “Love and Marriage” set.  I think this may be the fourth or fifth time I have used it because it just works again…

and again for a clean and beautiful wedding card.

This first card was made for two different challenges this week.  Dynamic Duos is the first challenge.  I didn’t have anything with the color “Pear Pazzazz”, so a couple of Copics were blended to (hopefully) get close to it.  Also, PTI’s “New Leaf” cardstock was used with the hope that it, too, is a close enough match to “Garden Green”.  The second challenge is the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.

Challenge 1: Dynamic Duos #63 — Challenge 2: CAS(E) this sketch! #38

I have had this paper pad called “Camp-a-Lot” for some time now so was excited to use it on this week’s CAS-ology Week #55 – Camp Challenge.  A large sentiment used with a couple of different paper patterns made this a quick and simple card to make… just the ticket for a great guy card.
