Every summer Splitcoaststampers (SCS) has a fun week of challenges created by the current Dirty Dozen and the Dirty Dozen Alumni.  Well it starts today!  Stacy (Twinshappy) asked me to be a sample maker for her challenge.  Here’s a sneak peek at what I made.

If you are a Fan Club member at SCS, be sure to check out the challenges HERE.  And then… PLAY ALONG!!  There are even prizes!

There are still a few more days left to play along in my sketch challenge.  If you haven’t seen it, check it out HERE.  In conjunction with the challenge, I’m giving away a sweet brand new set by Stampin’ Up called “Hoop-La-La.”  So cute!

This card is for a couple of different challenges going on this week.  At Stampin’ Sisters in Christ the challenge was to make a CAS (Clean and Simple) card.  So I went to the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog, which is a wonderful resource for a great CAS design, to check out their weekly sketch.  Well I {loved} it!  So I played along.  Here it is.

Clean and Simple (CAS) always seems to work when it comes to a guy’s card.  Here is one that I made for my oldest son’s birthday.

After masking and sponging the colored strip, the bike and sentiment were stamped.  A ribbon was added, and the card was done.

If you haven’t seen my Sketch Challenge for July, be sure to check it out along with the brand new stamp set from Stampin’ Up that is being offered as some fun candy.

It’s the 15th of the month which means its time for another Rainy Day Sketch Challenge!  I’m having so much fun with these.  So here is the sketch.

And here is my take on the sketch.

Isn’t that the cutest little image.  It is part of one of Stampin’ Up’s newest sets called “Hoop La La.”  And I couldn’t wait to play with this new embossing folder with coordinating piercing template and border punch, too.

So for this month’s sketch, providing there are some challenge takers, I have a second brand new “Hoop La La” set to give away!

If you do decide to play along, leave a link to your creation in the comments section.  A winner will be selected on August 1st giving you a little over 2 weeks to play.  Oh and please make sure that the link you leave goes to the specific card you are entering and not to your blog or gallery in general.  Hope you can find some time to play!

The Sketch Challenge is now closed.

Happy Crafting!

Had some fun new stamps and some fun new papers.  What else could I do but make a couple of fun new cards?!

Although I changed it up, I got the idea for this design at my local craft store.  They had made a card using this stamp.  I was totally sold and bought the stamp right up!  lol  Using the embossed resist technique, the image was clear embossed.  Inks were sponged on, and the musical image was then stamped.  Because of the clear embossing, any ink from the musical backgrounder was easy to wipe off from the leafy image.   Stickles was applied over the clear embossing.

There was lots of sponging and inky fingers with the creation of this cowboy riding off into the sunset, too.

With all the beautiful designer papers now, it seems like it’s been awhile since I have created this “style” of card by making my own backgrounds and scenes.  Had such fun getting inky!

Happy Trails!

One of my little granddaughters loves purple, outer space, volcanoes and dinosaurs.  Even though her birthday is several months off, I think this card may be for her.

Remember this?  Forgetting about the fact that several of my Copics had been overfilled, I had another “blob” that needed a coverup.  While adding a shadow under the dinosaur’s feet, a huge drip created a lot more “shadow” than could be fixed!  Some punched grass came to the rescue.

Oh yes, and she also LOVES Minnie!

Thanks for dropping by today.  Happy Crafting!

Phew!  I think every weekend in June had at least one wedding to attend along with wedding showers sprinkled in during the weeks!  Here are the final two wedding cards.

This first card went with the red and blue theme of the invitation.

I let the designer paper do most of the work!  A row of pearls helped, too.

The second card was for a dear friend’s daughter.  Her colors were purple, black and white.  (Shower card here.)

I love these pearl stick pins!

Hope all these happy couples have Happy Ever Afters!

And finally, the winner of my June Sketch Challenge blog candy is Pat (mspfd)!  I’ll be emailing you for your snail mail addy!
