Sketches are my favorite kind of challenge, and today’s card was created for this week’s sketch challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.

An embossing folder was used on the long panel of designer paper.  I think it adds an interesting texture.

The image was colored with Copics and accented with a White Gel Pen.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Happy Crafting!

Played along in this week’s FTL#183 Sketch on the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog.

I just love these two guys and definitely had some fun inking and coloring them up!

A couple of my DBIL’s have birthdays in March, and clean and simple always seems to work for the guys.

The two masks for stippling were made using a deckle ruler for one and a Nestabilities Deckled Mega Rectangle Die for the other.

Love the effect.. just something a little different from the usual straight edge mask.

Cut.. Stamp.. Emboss.  That’s the order that works best for me.  On today’s set of cards the shaped borders were cut first with a couple of different dies from SU’s Adorning Accents collection.

Next the borders were stamped with the coordinating stamps for each cut design.  And lastly the borders were embossed with the coordinating embossing folders.

On the birthday card I used the embossing folder twice to give a double embossed edge on both designs.

When running the cardstock and embossing folders through my embossing machine a second time, it tended to flatten the first embossed design.  So while the cardstock was placed on a soft mat (Ornare Piercing Pad was used here),  I traced the embossing tool over the embossed areas pressing gently to help redefine the original embossing.

And before you go… just wanted to show you a fun paper rainbow that my granddaughters made.  Their mom took a picture of them next to the display.  So fun!!  Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Today’s set of cards, one feminine and one masculine, features Basic Grey’s “Little Black Dress” designer paper (dp).

Here’s a closer look at the first card..

The focal point uses an Inchie and an Inchie+ from the Inchie Art neutrals collections.  The Art Flowers (paper flowers) were colored with Copics.

This second card was for my DH’s birthday.  He really liked it… one of his “all-time favorites!!”  The image and sentiment were stamped directly onto the dp.

There was dp on the inside of the card as well with a stamped sentiment.

Even though this paper may suggest a feminine theme in its name, there are several papers in the collection that are versatile enough to be used for a guy’s project, too!  Gotta love that!

Happy Crafting!

I recently bought a few of these cute little maze games and decided one would be fun on a birthday card for my nephew.

The maze is adhered to the inside of the card and peeks through a large circular window that was cut on the front.  Easy, fast and fun.  What could be better!

Have a wonderful birthday, Luke!!

I had been wanting a Martha Stewart Scoring Board for awhile, so I was excited to get one this past Christmas from one of my sons.  This card shows a diamond embossed (scored) design made with the Scoring Board.  It was an easy peasy detail, but it adds some great texture.

To help it stand out even more, a pad of white craft ink was run gently across the embossing.

For those that may care for a little more Earth friendly crafting, the Memory Box “Valise” designer paper is from a certified sustainable forest program and is printed with a soy based ink .  Cool, huh!

Thanks for dropping by today.  Happy Crafting!

This card was made to play along in this week’s “Over the Edge” challenge at Our Creative Corner.  The idea was to have just one or two feathers TOTAL on the entire card, but as you can see, someone got carried away in the moment!!  LOVE!

Was this ever fun!!

Now this was some Happy Crafting! Thanks for dropping by today!
