TODAY IS MY 4-YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!!!!
To celebrate I have FOUR stamp sets to giveaway!!!!

Let’s start with the set from Inkadinkado. (Each of the stamp sets in my blog candy are new and unused.  The cards using their images were made with a duplicate set.)

Here’s a card I made using one of the images from Set #1.

The turtle’s shell is cutout and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

The set is called “Patterned Pets”.

The second set is from Hero Arts called “Dolls”.

Love these sweet girls.

So many cute images!

The third set is from Stampin Up.

Here’s a card using that brand new little chick.

Such a darling image!

This set is just in time to start your Easter creations!

And finally here is the last set which is also from Stampin Up:

And here is a card.

The watercolor look was achieved by coloring the stamps directly with a marker and then spritzing them with water before stamping.

Love the beautiful and elegant images in this latest SAB set.

To enter your name in the drawing for a chance at ONE of these sets, simply leave a comment BELOW ON THIS POST.  This drawing will close at the earliest on Sunday, February 19th at midnight at which time I will draw FOUR winners.  The person whose name is drawn first will have first pick of one of the four sets.  The person whose name is drawn second will choose a set from the remaining three sets and so on.  And remember, if you are reading this post in your Reader, you must actually come to my blog and comment on this post below to qualify for the drawing.

Good luck everyone!!

Happy Crafting!

Last September I visited my son and his wife to help out with some babysitting while their second child was born.  I was so surprised when he and his wife sent me a sweet thank you in the form of a wonderful stamp set by Inkadinkado called “Thank You Words.”  Now how cool is that!  Here is a quick 5-minute card that uses this set.  Pretty much letting this gorgeous Lilybee Design “Happily Lost” designer paper do all of the work.  LOVE the tiny scaled patterns on these papers.. perfect for card making and so fun!

(Here are a couple of cards I made using other sentiments from this same set.)

Continuing with the “5-minute” theme, I made this card using one of SU’s latest SAB stamp sets.

The sentiment was punched out and popped up for a little interest on this CAS design.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to come back next week for some fun Blog Candy!!  Happy Crafting!

This week’s challenge over at Stampin’ Sisters in Christ is to make a {HEART} stand out in your card/project.

Being close to Valentine’s Day and also being in need of a card for a bridal shower, it was a perfect challenge for me to play along in.

With lots of die cut heart layers, this first card is the card entered into the challenge.

This second card is actually a CASE of CASE!  Loved this design so much that I decided to use it again this time for a bridal shower.

In a couple of weeks I will be having my 4-year blogiversary!!!!  There will be 4 new stamp sets looking for 4 new homes.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Happy Crafting!

Earth Day 2011: A Billion Acts of Green®

Happy Earth Day!  Thanks for playing along in my Blog Candy post for the SU “So Green” stamp set and acrylic block.  There were some great ideas for recycling and reducing and repurposing!

I’ve just been over at random.org, and the winner is #19 Lisa E. :

“I’m trying harder to always take my bags to the grocery store. I cook most of our meals and we almost never do takeout so less styrofoam and other food containers. We have a compost bin for all the kitchen scraps. My husband is a fanatic about combining errands so he uses as little gas as possible – though it is more about $$$ than exhaust, I admit.”

I’ll be emailing you, Lisa,  to get your snail mail addy.  Congrats and Happy Crafting!!

Earth Day 2011: A Billion Acts of Green®

This coming Friday is Earth Day, and in celebration I have a “So Green” stamp set and an acrylic gridded block to give away!

This is one of the new style of Stampin Up stamp sets with foam backing that sticks to a reusable acrylic block rather than having each stamp permanently mounted on its own wood block.  The same acrylic block can be used over and over again since the stamps can be pulled off when you are finished stamping with them.

On this card I changed up the sentiment a little by stamping the three words in the sentiment individually.. one word for each tree.

To enter your name in the drawing, comment BELOW ON THIS POST.  I would love for you to give an idea or two as to what you do to Reduce, Reuse and/or Recycle.  Although it can, it doesn’t have to pertain to crafting necessarily.  But it can be anything that you might do like turning off the water while brushing your teeth or using washable cloth rags for spills and cleaning instead of paper towels or… whatever… large or small.  It all makes a difference.  I want to learn from all of you and get some ideas as to how I can be a better steward of this beautiful world that God created for us.

I will announce the winner on Friday, April 22 (Earth Day!).  (Will use random.org Thursday midnight to draw a winner.)

Good Luck!

“Hi Susan, please extend my Birthday wishes to your husband. I am sure he will love the card, it is very manly.

3 years of blogging is a large accomplishment. I appreciate the time and dedication involved in having a blog (this is why I don’t have one). I am one of the few people on the planet that don’t own any SU stuff. I think that owl is adorable. I have a collection of owl stamps, they are always so cute.

Have a great day and I will be keeping my fingers crossed.”

I’ll be contacting you so I can get your new SU stuff in the mail.  Happy Crafting!

It’s been 3 years today that I began blogging.  And last week Rainy Day Creations got a new theme with a new look.  So I wanted to have a little blog candy celebration by giving away this new Stampin’ Up Sale-A-Bration stamp set called “Punch Bunch”.  Also included in the blog candy is SU’s scalloped square punch.  It coordinates perfectly with the birthday stamp in this set.

Today is also my husband’s birthday.  Not sure if I started my blog on his birthday to help me remember my blogoversary each year or to help me remember his birthday.  I have been known to forget these sorts of things in the past.  Oops.
I even forgot our wedding anniversary once.

His card was made using the birthday stamp from my set (this set is brand new) and my scalloped square punch (again, the one pictured here is new).

The sentiment was stamped on yellow cardstock with VersaMark and then embossed with black embossing powder.  You can really see how the punch is slightly larger than the image so that a fine border is left after punching.  LOVE the look!

Okay so back to the business at hand!
All you need to do to enter the drawing for this SU stamp set and coordinating scalloped square punch is leave a comment below on this blog post.  A winner will be chosen at midnight PST this Friday, February 18th, using random.org’s random number generator.

Good luck and Happy Crafting!

Received these in the mail yesterday from my twin granddaughters.

When you open them there is a string of 3-D hearts that pop up.  They are SO cute!

And as the Valentines from my granddaughters arrived for me, the Valentines below that I made for them were on their way to my sweet girls.  It was a circle of love!

There is also a birthday card here for my great-niece.  The candy in the heart shaped treat cups is accessible from the inside.  I have a tutorial on the slider for these treat cups HERE.

Next week my blog will be 3 years old!   I have a brand new Stampin’ Up! stamp set and coordinating punch to give away.  Hope you’ll stop back in and help me celebrate.  Happy Crafting!

Here’s a little candy to celebrate my upcoming birthday!

A couple of year’s ago my sons gave me some crafting tools for Christmas.  Among those tools was an EK Success Fastenater, but I hadn’t used it in awhile.  Then when I saw another at my local craft store, it reminded me of this fun tool and the unique look it offers to papercrafters.  I decided to get one to share and to pull mine out and make a couple of more cards with it.

The brand new stamp set is such a wonderful Valentines set.  The sentiments can be used together or individually since they do not overlap each other in the design.  I LOVE that!  Plus there are so many sentiments to choose from.

The cute little birds and hearts follow suit.  The image stamp is long enough to reach the full 5-1/2″ across a standard card size.  Or like the sentiments, you can also use some of the individual little birds or hearts by themselves.

All you need to do to enter the drawing for the Fastenater and stamp set is leave a comment below on this blog post.  A winner will be chosen at midnight PST on Saturday, January 22nd .  Yup, that’s my…

hehe

Happy Crafting!
